Each year, through Stay Smart Online Week, the Australian Government works with governments, industry, small business operators and community groups to raise awareness about the ways people can protect themselves online.
The national awareness week is held in October each year and focuses on a key theme that highlights an important safety message.
This year, Stay Smart Online Week will run from 7-13 October. This year, we are continuing the 'Reverse the Threat' of cybercrime theme and empowering Australians to take control of their online identity by reviewing privacy settings, knowing how to spot phishing scams, creating strong and unique passwords and turning on two-factor authentication.
When Stay Smart Online Week started in 2008, we had 50 partners. In 2018, we have over 1400 partners helping us to promote the week around Australia, sharing tips and resources with individuals and businesses. Find us here as a supporting partner: JaziNET
The Stay Smart Online program demonstrates that the partnership approach between business and government is an effective way to boost Australia's cyber resilience.
By encouraging business to share their experience and best practices, it empowers others to learn to better protect their customer information. Our Stay Smart Online partners are invaluable when it comes to helping spread key online safety and security messages throughout the community.
